Funds of Funds have fallen on hard times with more than $168 billion in redemptions for 2009. The Hedge Fund of Funds industry has changed dramatically as total Assets Under Management (AUM) has fallen from an all time high in 2008 of $823 billion to the present $440 billion.  TheDeal.com reports "A shakeout looks inevitable, but dealmakers eyeing fund-of-funds managers as potential acquisition targets should keep in mind that it’s early yet. Deal values will likely continue to fall. While assets are down about 50% from their peak, the number of funds-of-funds totals 3,100, according to Eurekahedge, just 15% below the peak at the end of 2007."  More info here, http://bit.ly/5i7h0j
