Previously Mr. John managed the $20 billion MBS balance sheet for Travelers/Citigroup where he and his team outperformed the Lehman index in 8 of 9 years. Concurrently he was appointed to manage third party money versus the Lehman Aggregate, Lehman Govt/Credit and Lehman Govt/MBS indices where he also achieved significant alpha and his Lipper #1 ranking. Prior to that Mr. John worked at Merrill Lynch where he held a number of titles. He wrote the computer code for Merrill’s first CMO model and subsequently become Director of CMO and Whole-Loan Structuring. As CMO Product Manager he increased Merrill’s market share and League Table standings. He would later serve as CMO Arbitrage trader and as co-head of Asset-Backed Finance. Mr. John earned a BSE degree from Princeton in Basic Engineering (a course of study which has evolved into today’s Financial Engineering degree). He also holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
